Dr. Ijeomah Arodiogbu Clarifies Seyi Tinubu Has Not Announced Plans to Run for Governorship
Dr. Ijeomah Arodiogbu, who happens to be the National Vice Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the South East, during an interview with The Punch addressed the controversy surrounding the South East Development Commission and claims that the Igbo are being marginalized by President Bola Tinubu’s administration, and also talked on Seyi Tinubu’s governorship ambition.
During the interview, he was asked if the Igbo community in Lagos State will support Seyi Tinubu’s governorship ambition in the 2027 general elections. While he was responding to this question, he said that the Igbo people are not tribalistic, and during the last election, it was not about Igbo against any people as it was insinuated. He claimed that the truth is that Igbo people in Lagos State are doing their business, and working very hard and are not totally concerned with the issue of elections.
He said, “About the president’s son running for governorship, he has not told anybody that he wanted to run for governorship. There is no public declaration and when he does, I think this question will be better directed to my colleague from the South West, (Isaac) Kekemeke.”
Further talking, he said, “Meanwhile, I think the young man has worked hard for the party and this administration. During the presidential election campaign, he was practically everywhere. So, I don’t think being the president’s son should be a disadvantage to him.”
