According to Punch paper, Mary Beth Leonard said that Nigerians are angry and frustrated with the results, while others are celebrating Tinubu’s victory. She also commended Nigerians for demonstrating their dedication to democracy.

Reacting to this, a Facebook User said the election didn’t fail to meet the expectations of Nigerians, but failed to meet the expectations of ‘failed’ parties. The user also said that Nigerians don’t need the opinion of US in our National poll.

Another person said since US said the election failed to meet our expectations, then Prof Yakubu should cancel the election and resign honorably.

Someone else said that the US should place a visa ban on all those who undermined our democratic processes.

Recall that US had earlier congratulated the President-Elect, Bola Ahmed Tinubu on his victory at the polls.
