Ayo Fayose: Peter Obi Has Become the Leading Voice of the Opposition, More Prominent Than the PDP
Former Ekiti State Governor Ayodele Fayose recently shared his thoughts on the challenges facing the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) during an interview with Channels Television. Fayose expressed his concerns about the party’s current state and its struggle to serve as a strong opposition to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
Fayose highlighted that the PDP is in disarray, with internal conflicts and suspensions among key members weakening the party’s unity. This division, he said, is making it difficult for the PDP to effectively challenge the APC.
He also pointed out that Peter Obi, the presidential candidate of the Labour Party, has now become a leading figure of the opposition. Fayose observed that the media is more inclined to seek Obi’s opinions on national issues, rather than turning to the PDP, due to the party’s diminishing influence amid its internal crises.
Fayose emphasized that the PDP must resolve its internal issues if it hopes to be a serious competitor against the APC. Without a united and organized party, overcoming the ruling party will be a tough challenge.
