Asari Dokubo Denies Betraying Nnamdi Kanu, Says They Were Enemies Before Arrest

Niger Delta activist Asari Dokubo has denied accusations that he betrayed Nnamdi Kanu, leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), who was recently sentenced to prison.
In a video posted on his Facebook page, Dokubo said he and Kanu were adversaries at the time of the IPOB leader’s arrest. He stated that their conflict was openly known and that he had publicly vowed to confront Kanu months before his capture.
“At the time Nnamdi Kanu was arrested, he was my enemy. I was looking for him to kill him, and he was also looking for me to kill me,” Dokubo said. “Months before he was caught, I told him I will smoke him out anywhere he is. So how did I betray him?”
He argued that his prior statements showed transparency rather than betrayal.
