Afenifere Condemns Tinubu Administration for Insufficient Empathy During National Hardship
The socio-political group Afenifere has voiced strong criticism of President Bola Tinubu’s administration, citing a lack of empathy toward the hardships faced by Nigerians amidst growing economic challenges, insecurity, and widespread hunger.
In a meeting at the home of their leader, Pa Ayo Adebanjo, in Ogun State, Afenifere outlined their concerns in a communiqué signed by Deputy Leader Oba Oladipo Olaitan and Deputy Secretary-General Alade Rotimi-John.
Afenifere expressed disappointment over the government’s perceived detachment from the severe hardships afflicting the population, pointing specifically to policies such as the continued rise in fuel prices, which they argue has intensified the public’s suffering.
The group lamented what it sees as an absence of effective plans to address and ease the economic crisis, stating that this reflects a disregard for citizens’ well-being.
The communiqué emphasized that the government’s approach lacks clear, supportive measures during a time of significant national strain, highlighting ongoing insecurity and pervasive hunger as critical issues that need urgent attention.
