Abejide: Only Two Factors Could Prevent Tinubu’s Re-Election in 2027
Federal lawmaker Hon. Leke Abejide has said it would be extremely difficult to unseat President Bola Tinubu in the 2027 elections, citing the power and influence of a sitting president in Nigeria.
Speaking during an interview on TVC, Abejide stated that the president controls national structures and institutions, making any electoral challenge highly unlikely to succeed. According to him, only two scenarios could stop Tinubu from returning to office: if the president chooses not to run or if he passes away.
“It’s difficult to say you want to unseat a first-time governor, not to talk of a first-time president,” Abejide said. “The two things can make this president not to be president in 2027: one, if he decides not to run; two, if he’s not on this planet earth. Apart from these two things… God Almighty will keep him for us.”
Abejide urged political opponents to reconsider their 2027 ambitions, while expressing hope for the president’s continued health and leadership.
