You Didn’t Even Give Your Candidate 10% In The SE, But You Claim It Was Because Obi Contested – Nyesom Wike
The former governor of Rivers state, Nyesom Wike has reacted to the various claims that the votes of main opposition Peoples Democratic Party, PDP were cut short because the labour party presidential candidate, Peter Obi also contested in the election…
Wike who hosted some journalists for a media chat in Portharcourt, Rivers state noted that the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP did not even give their presidential candidate 10 percent in any of the South East states, but yet they come out and say it was because Obi also ran in the election.
The former governor who downplayed such notion stressed that Obi running or contesting in the election has nothing to do with them not being able to give their presidential candidate the required 25 percent, pointing out that such wasn’t an excuse to make.
In his words…
“All those PDP leaders from the South East who will go and sit and make noise, they couldn’t give their presidential candidate up to 10 percent, not one, you say Obi was running election, so, Obi was running election, is that why you cannot give 25 percent, what has Obi got to do with you having 25 percent…
“One will not be wrong to say that Peter Obi had also been a strong force in the just concluded presidential election in the country which produced Bola Ahmed Tinubu as the president.”
