Wike: When I Told Tinubu To Join PDP, Support Atiku For President, He Said 1 Thing I’ll Never Forget

Nyesom Wike, the governor of Rivers State, claims that Bola Tinubu, the president-elect, told him something in 2018 that he would never forget when the PDP asked him to go talk to him about leaving the ruling party because they were giving Bola Tinubu a hard time at the time.
According to Channels Television, Wike claimed that when he asked Bola Tinubu to support their presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, the President-elect said that he was not going to do so because he was unfit to lead and that he would instead choose Buhari over him. Wike was speaking at a state banquet in honor of the President-elect.
Additionally, Wike claimed that Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the president-elect, told him that he would select President Buhari over Atiku 200 times over. Tinubu continued by outlining the reasons why Buhari was superior to the PDP candidate at the time, earning Wike’s respect and promising that he would never forget what he said.
He said, “When I told Tinubu to join PDP, support Atiku for president, he said one thing I’ll never forget. I was sent to go and talk to him, how he can join us. I went to him, I said sir, I hear you can’t find your feet again in APC. Why not join us and let’s support one of these our candidates to win the 2019 election? He asked me. Who are these your candidates, I mentioned them. He said look, if it is these ones you have, I will support (Muhammadu) Buhari 200 times. He told me that. And I respected him.
