Why a Pastor Instructed Ushers to Remove a Woman Sitting in Front of the Pulpit – Mike Bamiloye
In a recent post on his official Facebook page, Evangelist Mike Bamiloye, a well-known gospel actor and preacher, shared an incident where a pastor had to ask the ushers to remove a woman from the church due to her inappropriate attire.
Bamiloye explained that during the sermon, the pastor had to stop and address the issue, as the woman, seated in the front row across from the pulpit, was wearing a revealing outfit. Her skirt and blouse exposed her thighs and cleavage, which became a distraction for both the preacher and the congregation.
The evangelist clarified that the pastor’s actions were not a sign of weakness but a response to the prompting of the Holy Spirit, aiming to remove distractions that could interfere with the flow of the message. He stressed that such clothing could lead others, particularly young or new believers, to stumble in their faith. “The pastor was guided by the Holy Spirit to eliminate a distraction that could block the work of the Spirit,” Bamiloye explained.
Referencing the Bible, specifically 1 Corinthians 8:9, Bamiloye warned believers against becoming a stumbling block to others through their behavior or appearance. He pointed out that while some Christians claim freedom in Christ, they often overlook how their choices might tempt or negatively influence those around them.
In conclusion, Bamiloye urged believers, especially women, to be mindful of how they dress and behave in church. He posed the question, “Do you dress to honor God, or to satisfy your own desires?” He also reminded them of Jesus’ serious warning against causing others to stumble, as the consequences are significant.
