“Tunisian Pilot Reveals How Senior Libyan Official Ordered Alteration of Super Eagles’ Flight Route”
The Tunisian pilot responsible for flying the Super Eagles to Libya for an upcoming match has revealed details of a concerning mid-flight incident. According to the pilot, Libyan authorities unexpectedly ordered a change in the flight’s destination, despite the original plan to land at a designated airport.
This incident was shared in a video circulating on X (formerly known as Twitter), where the pilot explained that they were instructed to divert just as they were approaching the original landing site.
The pilot mentioned that he tried to communicate with the officials multiple times—up to eight times—but was told that the order came from the highest-ranking authority and had to be followed. He expressed worry for the safety of the Super Eagles players, noting that the fuel on board was specifically calculated for the initial route.
This revelation comes amid reports that Libyan authorities had mistreated the Super Eagles ahead of their match. The pilot’s account has generated significant attention online, with many users reacting strongly to the situation in the comments section of the video post.
