Tinubu and Global Leaders Set to Attend G20 Summit in India
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu Invited to G20 Summit in India, According to reporters, the Indian government has extended an invitation to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to participate in the upcoming G20 summit.
The G20, established in 2008 after the Global Financial Crisis of 1997-1998, is a yearly gathering of major economies, accounting for 85 percent of global GDP, 75 percent of international trade, and representing two-thirds of the world’s population.
Ambassador Shri G. Balasubramanian, the Indian High Commissioner to Nigeria, confirmed that communication channels have already been established between India and Nigeria to facilitate President Tinubu’s attendance at the summit. The event is scheduled to take place on September 9 and 10, 2023, in India.
The G20 member nations include Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Canada, China, France, Germany, India, Indonesia, Italy, Japan, Republic of Korea, Mexico, Russia, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, Türkiye, the United Kingdom, the United States, and the European Union.
India looks forward to working closely with Nigerian authorities to ensure a fruitful and successful participation of Nigeria in the summit, involving meetings at ministerial and engagement group levels.
