Taskforce Seizes 70 Vehicles for Traffic Law Violations in Lagos
Operatives from the Lagos State Environmental and Special Offences Enforcement Unit (Taskforce) have seized seventy vehicles for breaching the revised traffic regulations in Lagos State.According to a statement from the taskforce’s spokesman, Gbadeyan Abdulraheem, these vehicles were confiscated during targeted operations aimed at addressing violations by commercial drivers that contribute to unnecessary traffic jams and public disturbances.
CSP Adetayo Akerule, Chairman of the Lagos State Taskforce, emphasized that the agency will remain vigilant and unyielding against those who flout environmental and traffic regulations until the public starts adhering to the laws meant to ensure safety and order.Abdulraheem noted that enforcement actions were conducted at specific locations, including Okuta Road junction in Bariga, Oba Akran Road under the bridge in Ikeja, and Ladipo by Five Stars along the Oshodi-Apapa expressway.
Additionally, CSP Akerule cautioned that the agency will not tolerate any form of misconduct from reckless drivers, asserting that traffic congestion is a result of such irresponsible behavior rather than natural occurrences.
