Sultan Urges Muslims to Increase Prayers for Nigeria, Refrains from Mentioning Churches as CAN President is Present
The Sultan of Sokoto, Sa’ad Abubakar Mohammad, has called on all Nigerians to continue praying for the country during these challenging times. In a report published by Sahara Reporters on Monday, the monarch emphasized that Muslims should increase their prayers for Nigeria in all mosques. He also urged the President of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) to convey a similar message to Christians.
The Sultan acknowledged that many people feel Nigeria is facing unprecedented difficulties, but he assured that, despite the hardships, better days are ahead. He was quoted saying, “Focus on your worship of Allah (God) and leave the rest in His hands, not in the hands of others.
Avoid those who might mislead you. Despite the challenges facing the country, we believe that a return to Allah is essential.”He further urged, “Increase your prayers for the country in every mosque. I won’t mention churches, as the CAN President is present, and I trust he will encourage Christians to do the same.”
