Shehu Sani Reacts After Tinubu Congratulated Finitri
Shehu Sani, a Nigerian writer, human rights activist and senator representing Kaduna State on the Nationwide Assembly, has taken to his official Fb platform to react after the Nigerian president-elect, Bola Ahmed Tinubu congratulated PDP Finitri, regardless of being a member of the ruling APC.
that “Asiwaju sending congratulatory message to PDP’s Fintiri in Adamawa State is a modest departure from the politics of malice and bitterness that characterise and have become the hallmark governance within the final eight years.”
Recall that after the supplementary election held in Adamawa State, the state governor, Ahmadu Finitri, who contested under the umbrella of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), was declared the winner of the election after he polled extra votes to beat his closest rival, Aishatu Binani of the ruling APC.
However, the president-elect, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, who can be a member of the ruling APC, took to Twitter to congratulate Finitri after he was declared the winner, and, in the opinion of Shehu Sani, for Tinubu to congratulate Finitri exhibits that Nigeria is allegedly departing from a politics of bitterness, and he recommended it.
