RCCG, led by Pastor Adeboye, Calls for Public to Submit Evidence in Pastors’ Sexual Misconduct Probe
The Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), led by Pastor Adeboye, has urged the public to present any credible evidence related to allegations of sexual misconduct against two of its youth ministers.
In a memo dated October 28, 2024, signed by the church’s national overseer, Sunday Akande, RCCG announced the indefinite suspension of the accused ministers to allow a comprehensive investigation. The church emphasized its strong stance against any form of homosexuality, referencing its biblical principles, and reiterated its commitment to thoroughly examining the claims.
To support the investigation, the church provided an email address ([email protected]) and a phone number (09039000700) for individuals to submit verified evidence. The church clarified that only substantiated information would be considered during the investigation.
One of the suspended ministers, Ayorinde AdeBello, has publicly denied the allegations, insisting he has never engaged in inappropriate behavior with male teenagers. He explained that his initial silence was interpreted as an admission of guilt, which led him to address the situation. He also clarified a viral screenshot of a WhatsApp message, explaining it was part of a discussion about male reproductive health and self-esteem among teenage boys.
According to a report by ChurchTimes, RCCG’s recent statement reinforces its commitment to addressing these issues transparently and in line with its values.
