President Tinubu’s Swift Intervention in the DSS/EFCC’s Spat Gives Hope – Journalist Jaafar
A United Kingdom-based Nigerian investigative journalist, Jaafar Jaafar, has lauded President Bola Ahmed Asiwaju Tinubu’s swift response to the rift between the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission and the Department of State Security Service in Lagos State.
He expressed optimism that Tinubu’s administration will not be as nonchalant as the outgoing administration.
It was reported that operatives of the DSS stormed EFCC’s office in Ikoyi, barring then from gaining access into the office building. The dispute was settled after President Bola Tinubu urged the DSS operatives to vacate the office premises.
While reacting to the incident, Jaafar Jaafar took to his social media handle (Twitter) and tweeted:
“President Tinubu’s swift intervention in the DSS-EFCC spat gives hope that the era of presidential nonchalance to urgent state matters is gone. With Nigerians convalescing from Buhari’s 8 years of wilful indifference to crucial issues, Tinubu’s easy goal looks like a bicycle-kick goal to me.”
