President Bola Tinubu sends message to Turkish President Erdogan
President Bola Tinubu of Nigeria has sent a congratulatory message to his Turkish counterpart, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan on his victory at the poll.
Erdogan won a re-election in Sunday’s presidential runoff, triumphing over a united opposition and claiming another five-year term.
He won Turkey’s presidency with 52.14 percent of the votes, according to the head of the Supreme Election Council, Ahmet Yener, on Sunday, making the results official.
Reacting to his victory, Tinubu said Erdogan’s re-election was an unmistakable sign that he retained the full trust and confidence of the Turkish people.
He wished the Turkish president a successful tenure and looked forward to a collaborative relationship between the two nations.
Tinubu tweeted: “I congratulate President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan (@RTErdogan) on his recent electoral victory, an unmistakable sign that he retains the full trust and confidence of the Turkish people.
“I wish him a successful tenure and look forward to a collaborative relationship between our nations.”
