Police Report: Brothers Allegedly Assault Girl After Taking Her to Secluded Location
Two brothers in their early 20s have been arrested for abducting and assaulting a 14-year-old girl in Erima community, Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni Local Government Area of Rivers State, as reported by Punch. The girl was walking to her uncle’s house on Saturday when she was accosted by the brothers.
They took her to a secluded location where they assaulted her. Her mother raised the alarm when she didn’t return, prompting a search party by the community and vigilantes. One of the suspects was captured after a struggle, while the other managed to flee.
The suspect in custody was handed over to the Egi Police Division Headquarters and will soon be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department. A police spokesperson confirmed the incident and assured that an investigation is underway. The Commissioner of Police has ordered the arrest of the fleeing suspect.
The vigilante group advised the youth in the community to avoid harmful behaviors and engage in positive activities. The police are committed to ensuring that justice is served in this case.
