Peter Obi Sparks Reactions by Sharing Photos of Poor Road Conditions in Edo State
Peter Obi, the Labour Party’s 2023 presidential candidate, has generated significant discussion among Nigerians and social media users after posting photos of poor road conditions in Edo State.
Obi encountered these roads while traveling to attend a burial ceremony for a friend’s mother in Esan, Edo State, on Saturday.
In his post on X (formerly Twitter), Obi highlighted the untiled roads, where some vehicles were reportedly stuck.
He expressed his dismay, tweeting: “Today, again, I came face to face with the deplorable state of Nigeria’s roads as my desire to join a great friend and brother, Gen Cecil Esekhaigbe, in Esan Central of Edo, who was burying his mother, was marred by bad roads…”
Obi’s tweet has sparked various reactions from Nigerians, with some suggesting that he would encounter even more poor road conditions if he continues to travel by road. Others called on different politicians to take notice and address the issue.
The conversation surrounding his post highlights ongoing concerns about infrastructure and road maintenance in Nigeria. What are your thoughts on this situation?
