Okonjo-Iweala Responds to Criticism for Not Posting Photos with Tinubu
Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, has responded to some Nigerians who have been criticizing her online for not posting photos of herself with President Tinubu when the two of them met in Paris, France.
Okonjo-Iweala advised people to unwind while she spoke, saying the insults she endured for refraining from uploading photos of herself and Tinubu reveal the extent of division in our culture. She continued by explaining that she posts photos in the order that challengers or accompanying personnel submit them.
The WTO director revealed this in a tweet she sent on her account on Saturday afternoon, encouraging Nigerians to come together rather than wage war on one another and cautioning against reading too much into the statements made by certain Nigerians.
The whole tweet is available here.
Some Nigerians attacked and heavily criticised Dr. Okonjo-Iweala earlier today for sharing images of herself and other international leaders on his Twitter account but omitting to put the president of Nigeria, Bola Ahmed Tinubu. Some continued to accuse him of discriminating against him due to his origin in the south-western part of the country.
To advance our nation, we must love one another, regardless of our tribe or faith, just as Okonjo-Iweala just stated.
