Nigerian Army Responds to Allegations of Military Training Camp Seizure in Kontagora

The Nigerian Army has dismissed claims that insurgents have taken control of a military training camp in Kontagora, Niger State.Major General Onyema Nwachukwu, the Director of Army Public Relations, described these reports as false and damaging, warning that they could create unnecessary fear in the community.
According to Vanguard, Nwachukwu explained that an investigation found the individuals in the area were herders looking for grazing land, with no signs of hostility or harmful intentions.He expressed concern about the anxiety these false reports have caused, particularly in the Kontagora and Mariga communities.
Nwachukwu urged everyone, including local leaders like Honourable Abdullahi Isah, to confirm information through official sources to prevent the spread of misinformation.He noted that such rumors could distract from real security challenges and worsen the overall safety situation.
