“New Footage Surfaces as Over 90 People Killed in Jigawa Tanker Explosion”

At least 90 people have been confirmed dead, and 50 others have been hospitalized following a petrol tanker explosion that occurred on Tuesday evening in Majiya Town, located in Taura Local Government Area of Jigawa State.
The tragic incident was verified by Mr. Shi’isu Adam, the police spokesperson for Jigawa, during a statement on Wednesday.He explained that the accident took place around 11:30 p.m. on Tuesday in Majia Town, when the tanker driver lost control near Khadija University, leading to an explosion.
The driver, who had departed from Kano and was en route to Nguru in Yobe, lost control of the vehicle, which resulted in the deadly explosion.Adam also expressed concern that despite repeated warnings from the police advising people to stay away from accident scenes involving fuel tankers, many still approached the site.
This gathering of people contributed significantly to the high number of casualties.The injured victims are currently receiving treatment at Ringim General Hospital.A mass burial for the victims was conducted on Wednesday morning at 9 a.m.
