MKO Abiola’s Son Says Tinubu Followed His Dad to Meet Abacha in Hopes of Finding a Way Forward

Jamiu Abiola, one of the sons of the late M.K.O Abiola, has recently disclosed that Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the current President of Nigeria, was the one who accompanied his father to meet General Sani Abacha to discuss the way forward.
In an exclusive interview with Arise Television, Jamiu Abiola commended Tinubu for his unwavering support for the June 12 movement.
He added; “Nigeria now has a leader who not only understands the importance of the fight for democracy but also stands in the best position to make the best decisions for Nigerians.”
Jamiu Abiola expressed his admiration for Tinubu’s dedication to the cause, stating that he was always fighting for June 12. He acknowledged Tinubu’s efforts in coordinating from the background, which he believes contributed to the eventual recognition of June 12 as Democracy Day in Nigeria.
He stated further; “In the history of Nigeria, we now have a president that fought for democracy. He knows what it means to fight for democracy, so he is in a better position to do the right thing. He (Bola Ahmed Tinubu) was the one followed my dad to meet General Abacha when he took over to ask the way forward.”
Jamiu Abiola expressed his joy at the fact that Tinubu, who he described as the most loyal person that fought for June 12, has now become the President of Nigeria. He believes that this development makes a lot of sense to him, as Tinubu’s commitment to the cause has been unwavering.
