Metropolitan Officer Cummings Suspended from Duty and Charged with Rape

A serving Met police officer Jake Cummings has been suspended from work after being charged to court for rape and stalking.
According to the Met police, the officer appeared in court after being charged by Hertfordshire Constabulary.
Cummings, attached to Central West Command, appeared in custody at Hatfield Magistrates’ Court on Friday, 23 February charged with rape, two counts of stalking, two counts of controlling and coercive behaviour and possession of an offensive weapon.
The police officer was remanded in custody to appear at St Alban’s Crown’ Court on Tuesday, 26 March.
The police said the alleged offences related to a single victim and took place when Cummings was off duty.
The Met’s Directorate of Professional Standards has been informed.
