Mahdi Shehu Criticizes Tinubu Supporters, Suggests Seeking Psychiatric Help
In a statement on his official X account, Mahdi Shehu, a well-known human rights activist and political commentator, has reacted to President Bola Tinubu’s recent speech at the G20 Summit.
In his statement, titled ‘TINUBU HAS FINALLY DE-MARKETED NIGERIA AND AFRICA,’ Mahdi criticized the president’s statement at the summit.
“Just listen to Tinubu’s avoidable, self inflicting, and diplomatically unintelligent speech at the G20 summit. If you still see Tinubu as your savior, then report to the nearest psychiatric hospital for mental health support.
Tinubu is simply at the G20 summit: Cup at hand, on his knees, bleeding all over the body, head to toe, seeking for hand out, thinking he can attract debt forgiveness and ‘swindle’ investors to come to Nigeria via the window of sympathy. How naive?,” Mahdi Shehu wrote.
He described President Tinubu’s approach at the summit as desperate and undignified..
President Tinubu’s participation at the G20 Summit was aimed at presenting Nigeria as an attractive destination for investment, in his speech, he urged global leaders and investors to support Nigeria’s economic reforms and consider partnerships that could stimulate growth in Africa.
However, critics like Mahdi Shehu believe the president’s message projected weakness rather than strength.
Mahdi Shehu’s comments reflect the doubt among some Nigerians about Tinubu’s leadership and his ability to navigate international diplomacy.
Many argue that the president’s approach might deter investors rather than attract them.
