Kogi Vigilante Captures Two Alleged Kidnappers
The Kogi State Vigilante Service has arrested two individuals suspected of kidnapping in Dekina Local Government Area of the state, specifically in Abocho.The suspects, identified as Umoru Garuba and Salifu Ademu, were taken into custody in the Ibobo area of Abocho at around 2 pm on October 21, 2024.
Locals raised an alarm after spotting the suspects, which led to a prompt response from the Kogi State Vigilante Service, who were patrolling nearby.The vigilante team successfully apprehended the suspects, who later confessed to their involvement in the kidnapping.
After their arrest, the suspects were transferred to the Quick Response Unit (QRU) in Anyigba for further investigation and possible prosecution.The service’s spokesperson, S.O. Saka, confirmed the arrest on Tuesday, stating that the investigation is ongoing to ensure justice is served and to strengthen community safety.
