INEC Can’t Erase Our Data! Lawyer Claims IT Team Can Reverse BVAS Data Deletion
The presidential election petition case is currently ongoing after it started on May 8. The court, however, has held several sittings and has also made several adjournments.
However, a video currently circulating online has captured the moment in which one of the legal representatives of the labor party presidential aspirant, Peter Gregory Obi was speaking after a court session about how INEC has refused to give them proper cooperation on the assessment to the BIVAS machine.
He said even if the electoral body has deleted all information on the machine, they should just grant them access and their IT team will know how to extract the information they need.
He said “On the issue of BVAS, they(INEC) have not been able to give us proper cooperation on that.
They need to give us access and we will use our IT team to extract information and Even if they have deleted information from the BVAS, there is a procedure for extracting it. So all we ask from them is to avail us of the opportunity and the rest will be done in court”.
