Ibadan Youths Take to the Streets in Protest Against Food Inflation and Insecurity
Hundreds of residents, predominantly youths, in Ibadan, the capital of Oyo State, have marched through the streets to protest against the ongoing food crisis and insecurity plaguing the nation.
The protesters gathered around the Mokola area in the state wielding placards messages such as ‘End food hike and inflation’ , ‘Tinubu Must Address Insecurity’, ‘Hunger is Killing Us’, ‘[The poor are starving’ and ‘Tinubu, don’t forget your promises’. among others.
The protesters called on the government to take steps to bring down the high cost of living especially the soaring prices of food commodities.
They also called on the government to tackle the incidence of kidnappings in the land. They called for an end to banditry and terrorist attacks.
