“I Met President Bola Tinubu, Who Asked Me If I Was Interested in a Pipeline Contract – Asari Dokubo”
Asari Dokubo, a prominent leader from the Niger Delta, recently revealed that President Bola Tinubu once offered him a pipeline contract, which he turned down. This information emerged during an exclusive interview he had with Arise Television.
In previous statements, Dokubo accused President Tinubu of betrayal after he had invested heavily in Tinubu’s campaign during the 2023 elections. Tinubu, who was the Governor of Lagos State, went on to win the presidency, defeating several notable opponents.
In the interview, Asari Dokubo recounted his conversation with Tinubu, where the president inquired if he was interested in a pipeline opportunity. Dokubo clarified that he declined the offer, stating, “I told him I’m not interested in a pipeline contract.” He expressed his willingness to support others involved in pipeline contracts to ensure the government’s success, emphasizing that he has no personal interest in the matter.
He further stated, “My needs are very small,” insisting that his intentions were not for personal gain but rather to assist the government. His recent remarks have sparked considerable discussion among Nigerians on social media.
