Fire Incident at Federal Ministry Headquarters

A fire broke out at the headquarters of the Federal Ministry of Works in Mabushi, Abuja, shortly after workers arrived on Friday morning. The fire was triggered by a malfunction in a circuit breaker on the ground floor but was quickly put out, preventing major damage.
The Ministry’s Director of Press and Public Relations, Mohammed A. Ahmed, confirmed that the fire began at 11:30 am in Block A, specifically in the electrical control room due to a faulty circuit breaker.Federal Fire Service Station Commander, Mr. Kekai Bekebi, explained that his team swiftly controlled the fire using extinguishers, and all staff were safely evacuated without issues.
The Director of Human Resource Management, Mr. Aliyu Abdullahi, assured that no injuries, casualties, or important documents were lost in the incident. He also commended the staff for following evacuation procedures in an orderly manner.Normal operations resumed after the fire, with maintenance teams working to clear debris and repair the affected areas.
