FG Lists Buhari’s Achievements
President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration has praised itself for executing the “most ambitious legislative program” in Nigeria’s history.
A list of more than 30 bills signed by the president was released on Sunday, including 16 constitutional amendment bills signed in March.
It also includes the Electoral Amendment Act (2022) which was used for the 2023 General Election and the Not Too Young to Run Bill (2018).
The list is contained in a wider list of the president’s achievements.
As with legislative reform, the administration praised the president for overseeing the “biggest and most ambitious federal infrastructure program since Nigeria’s Independence.”
It mentioned the establishment of the Infrastructure Corporation of Nigeria (InfraCorp) with a trillion-naira seed capital provided by the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), the Nigerian Sovereign Investment Authority (NSIA), and the Africa Finance Corporation (AFC).
It also listed the 156km Lagos-Ibadan rail line, the Abuja-Kaduna rail line, the Itakpe-Warri rail line; roads like the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, and the Second Niger Bridge that are expected to be completed this month; and the new terminals for International Airports in Lagos, Abuja, Kano, and Port Harcourt
Other achievements listed by the administration include the dredging of Warri Port and reforms in the maritime and oil and gas industries.
