Dr. Tony Ofeyetan: Nnamdi Kanu Could Secure a Victory if He Runs for Governor Upon Release
Dr. Tony Ofeyetan, the Director General of the International Institute of Professional Security, has shared notable insights about the possible political future of Nnamdi Kanu, leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), if he were to be released from detention.
Speaking in an interview with TVC, Ofeyetan suggested that Kanu could either seek the presidency or run for a governorship position, where he would likely secure a significant victory. He highlighted how Kanu’s imprisonment has unintentionally elevated his status among his followers.
Ofeyetan further explained that the government’s actions have inadvertently turned Kanu into a hero, particularly in the Southeast of Nigeria. He noted that if Kanu decided to run for a political office in the region, especially as governor, he would likely win with overwhelming support.
