Chief Justice Kekere-Ekun Steps In on Rivers Political Crisis, Calls Judges to Address Conflicting Rulings

Chief Justice of Nigeria, Justice Kudirat Kekere-Ekun, has intervened in the ongoing political conflict in Rivers State, where Governor Siminalayi Fubara is at odds with former Governor Nyesom Wike.According to POLITICS NIGERIA, Justice Kekere-Ekun has summoned the judges responsible for issuing conflicting rulings on political cases within the state.
The National Judicial Council (NJC) has formed a panel to investigate the actions of these judges, with Justice Kekere-Ekun directing that the report be submitted within the week.This panel is led by a former Court of Appeal judge and includes two other heads of court divisions.
Additionally, the CJN has called the Chief Judge of the Federal High Court for a meeting scheduled for Tuesday.This action follows formal complaints to the NJC, with the CJN personally requesting a full investigation into the matter.
