Breaking: The President of Cameroon Paul Biya Dies After 42 Years in Power
The Reports have surfaced suggesting that Paul Biya, Cameroon’s long-time president, has died. According to the reports, he passed away at a military hospital in Paris, France, after being transferred from Geneva, Switzerland, due to a medical emergency.
Biya, who has led Cameroon since 1982, was Africa’s second-longest-serving president and the world’s oldest sitting head of state. His rule has been marred by accusations of authoritarianism and election manipulation.
Throughout his presidency, Biya maintained a strong relationship with France, receiving military support and equipment from the country.
He also managed delicate diplomatic relations with neighboring nations, including Nigeria, with which Cameroon has experienced territorial disputes.Although there is no official confirmation of Biya’s death yet, the news has generated widespread attention.
However, until the Cameroonian government or credible sources provide an official statement, his condition remains uncertain.
