Breaking: Senate Honors Late Ifeanyi Ubah with Valedictory Session (PHOTOS)

The Senate dedicated its plenary on Tuesday to honor the late Senator Ifeanyi Ubah, who represented Anambra South in the National Assembly.
During the solemn proceedings, the casket containing Ubah’s remains was displayed at the White House wing foyer, directly in front of the Senate Chamber. The session’s agenda focused exclusively on a single item: “Valedictory Session.”
Senate President Godswill Akpabio and Senate Leader Opeyemi Bamidele observed the occasion in traditional attire—Akpabio wore Isi-Enyi with a red cap and dark sunglasses, while Bamidele donned Isi-Agwu. Ubah’s Senate seat was adorned with flowers and draped in a cloth in the Nigerian national colors.
The session was open to non-senators, welcoming dignitaries and invited guests to pay their respects. Among those present were Vice President Kashim Shettima, former Anambra Governor Chris Ngige, and former Senator Uche Ekwunife. Wives of principal Senate officers, including Ekaette Akpabio, Hajiya Jibrin Barau, and Oluyemisi Bamidele, also attended the tribute.
Earlier, Speaker of the House of Representatives Tajudeen Abbas led a delegation of House leaders in a solemn procession around the late senator’s casket.
The atmosphere was heavy with emotion as the Senate celebrated Senator Ubah’s life and contributions to the legislature.
