Breaking: Otukpo Lawyer and Activist Shot Dead Outside His House [Photo]

In a tragic turn of events, Otukpo-based lawyer and activist Mike Ofikwu was brutally murdered by unidentified gunmen on Wednesday night at his residence in Benue State.

The incident occurred around 8 p.m. as Mr. Ofikwu waited outside his home on Otukpa Street for his gate to be opened. According to eyewitness accounts, two armed men in a vehicle approached and shot him at close range before fleeing the scene.

“It felt like a scene from a movie,” a witness recounted anonymously. “He had just returned from work and was targeted right outside his home.”

Neighbors quickly rushed him to the hospital after the attack, but he sadly succumbed to his injuries due to severe blood loss.

Benue State Police spokesperson, SP Catherine Anene, has confirmed the incident and extended condolences to Mr. Ofikwu’s loved ones. She assured the public that an investigation is underway to bring the perpetrators to justice.
