Bayo Onanuga Responds to Questions on Leadership After President and VP’s Departure

Bayo Onanuga took to his official X account on Wednesday to respond to journalists’ questions regarding who is in charge while President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Vice President Kashim Shettima are abroad.Onanuga, who serves as the Special Adviser to President Tinubu on Information and Strategy, assured Nigerians that there is no leadership vacuum during the President and Vice President’s trip.

He stated that all government functions are proceeding as normal, with key officials such as Senate President Godswill Akpabio, Secretary to the Government of the Federation George Akume, and various Ministers and Service Chiefs fulfilling their responsibilities.

Onanuga noted that this situation is not unprecedented; previous administrations, like that of former President Muhammadu Buhari and Vice President Osinbajo, have also seen both leaders traveling at the same time without disruption to government operations.In his message on X, Bayo Onanuga emphasized, “All state organs are functioning normally.
