Atiku’s aide: Guinean Gov. implicated Tinubu by saying it issued him a diplomatic passport
The spokesperson of the Atiku/Okowa Presidential Marketing campaign Council, Daniel Bwala had reacted to the alleged dual citizenship of the president-elect, Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
The allegations which purported Tinubu has dual citizenship of each Nigeria and Guinea generated combined emotions amongst Nigerians, especially these against his emergence as the President-elect in the just concluded presidential polls.
In a tweet Bwala made on his Twitter handle, he noted that the government of Guinea implicated Tinubu by saying the passport issued to him was a diplomatic one.
According to him, Tinubu accepting the diplomatic passport makes him a citizen of Guinea but he ticked in the INEC form he filled during the 2023 elections that he is only a Nigerian citizen.
Bwala wrote: “Guinean govt. further implicated him without knowing by saying the passport issued to him was a diplomatic one. Can a diplomatic passport be issued to a non-citizen? No. Only citizens who are either govt. officials or designated to attend a program abroad can get a diplomatic pp.
So, in a nutshell, by accepting the diplomatic passport he swore allegiance to the government and the flag of Guinea and hence he is a citizen of Guinea. But in his INEC form under oath he ticked that he doesn’t have a dual citizenship. You make the legal conclusion”
