Ann-Kio Briggs Urges Ibas to Account for Rivers State Funds, Questions Missing Vehicles

Human rights activist Ann-Kio Briggs has called on former Rivers State administrator Ibas to account for the management of the state’s funds during the period of emergency rule.
In an interview shared by SYMFONI TV, Briggs criticized Ibas for reportedly stating that he was accountable only to those who appointed him, not to the people of Rivers State. She described such a stance as lacking transparency and urged him to provide a clear account of his administration’s financial activities.
Briggs referenced Governor Siminalayi Fubara’s earlier comment that vehicles had been purchased for traditional rulers before the emergency rule. She maintained that if Ibas did not interfere with those assets, they should still be available for distribution.
“We heard the governor was saying he had bought vehicles for traditional rulers before he left. Well, if Ibas didn’t touch those vehicles, those vehicles should still be there, and the traditional rulers should have their vehicles,” Briggs said.
