AIT’s Ijeoma Osamor Says After She Testified In Court For Peter Obi’s LP – “I did not commit a crime”
It’s no longer news that the presidential election petition is still going on, even aftermath of the election that saw Bola Ahmed Tinubu emerge as president, as LP is one of those challenging Tinubu’s victory in court.
Amid that, video evidence from AIT’s ‘Democracy Today’ programme was on Friday displayed at the Presidential Election Petition Court and admitted as evidence for the Labour Party and Peter Obi.
This comes after a subpoena issued by the court for the broadcaster to tender the materials in the ongoing trial of the petition of the Labour Party.
The video was tendered by the presenter of the programme, Ijeoma Osamor, who represented the organization. Reactions have since trailed that and finally speaking about it, the AIT presenter tweeted that she did not a crime as she came in peace.
Ijeoma Osamor’s tweets reads;
AIT and other TV stations were subpoenaed by the Presidential election petition Court to play a video by INEC Chairman aired on Democracy Today on 23rd Nov 2022. I was authorised by management to represent the station. Abi I commit crime? I come in peace.
According to reports, the content of the video showed the INEC chairman, Prof. Mahmoud Yakubu in a briefing held on the 22nd of November 2022, repeatedly confirming that election results will be transmitted live.
