2027: Pascal Obi Dumps Labour Party for APC, Citing Uzodinma’s Development Strides
Hon. Pascal Obi, the former representative of Ideato North/Ideato South Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, has officially left the Labour Party (LP) to join the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
In his speech, Obi attributed his decision to Governor Hope Uzodinma’s “massive infrastructural development efforts” in Imo State. He also praised the leadership of the state APC, led by Macdonald Ebere, for its outstanding performance at the grassroots during the recent local government elections.
Obi pledged his full support and loyalty to the APC, assuring the party’s leadership of his commitment to its goals.
Welcoming Obi, APC State Chairman Macdonald Ebere expressed his appreciation for the former lawmaker’s return, describing it as a significant boost to the party’s strength in Imo State.
The reception, attended by numerous political stakeholders from Ideato South, served as an affirmation of solidarity with Obi. He had earlier formalized his membership at both ward and local government levels and was warmly received by the state APC executive council.
