Yul Edochie Faces Backlash Over Claim of Divine Call to Traditional Worship

Controversial Nollywood actor Yul Edochie has drawn sharp criticism online after declaring a return to both Christian and traditional religious practices, claiming divine instruction to lead people back to their roots.

In a post shared on Instagram, the actor and self-proclaimed prophet announced that his ministry had resumed. “My ministry is back. God has sent me to bring His people back to their traditional ways,” he wrote, describing himself as both a “prophet” and a “traditionalist.”

Edochie’s latest declaration follows months of vocal support for traditional spirituality, which has sparked heated reactions on social media.

Commenters were quick to react, with many mocking his spiritual claims. One user, @MercySamson9, wrote, “This is the result of when Queen May benches you.”
Another, @chy.ndu, said, “The kind of juju they used to tie Yul Edochie, if care isn’t taken, he might end up running mad.”

Some expressed sympathy for the actor’s perceived spiritual confusion. @missfavour_1 noted, “God is so merciful,” while @juwon_debbie added, “Immediately May left Yul, she took along his glory.”
