Toyin Abraham Celebrates Box Office Milestone for Alakada: Bad and Boujee
Nollywood continues to thrive on the global stage as Toyin Abraham’s comedy-drama Alakada: Bad and Boujee clinches the fifth spot among the highest-grossing films of 2024, raking in over N200 million in just 11 days.
Toyin Abraham, who produced and starred in the film, shared her excitement and gratitude on social media, acknowledging the immense support from her fans, affectionately known as the “Toyin Titans.”
“Thank you, 2024! And thank you, Toyin Titans, for making Alakada: Bad and Boujee the 5th highest-grossing movie of 2024 in just 11 days… What an incredible milestone for me!” she wrote in a heartfelt post.
Looking ahead with optimism, Abraham promised even greater strides in 2025, declaring: “We are heading into 2025 stronger than ever, ready to set even bigger records! Alakada is still lighting up cinemas.”
The actress and filmmaker emphasized her commitment to breaking records and inspiring others, stating: “This year, we’re focused on growth, success, and making history! Let’s keep shining!”
Directed by Adebayo Tijani and written by Toyin Abraham, Alakada: Bad and Boujee continues the beloved Alakada series. The film boasts a star-studded ensemble cast, including Odunlade Adekola, Ini Edo, Bimbo Akintola, and Ronke Odusanya.
The story follows Yetunde Animashaun, a spirited young woman from modest beginnings, who fakes an elite lifestyle to navigate complex social situations. With its mix of humor and drama, the film has struck a chord with audiences, cementing its place as one of Nollywood’s most celebrated releases of 2024.
