Nollywood Actress Aunty Sidi Recounts Personal Struggles and Tragedy in Viral Interview

Nollywood actress Ariyo Oluwakemisola Apesin, popularly known as Aunty Sidi, has opened up about her early life challenges and personal losses in a recent interview on Talk To B.

According to a report by Vanguard, Aunty Sidi disclosed that she became pregnant for the first time while preparing for her Senior Secondary Certificate Examination (SSCE). “The first man I ever slept with got me pregnant. I was about to write my SSCE when it happened,” she said.

Despite the situation, she noted that her mother remained supportive and prioritized her education. “My mum is passionate about learning. She insisted I complete my education and even said marriage could come later,” she added.

Following her mother’s advice, she enrolled in a catering program at the SOS Centre in Isolo. However, her passion for the performing arts led her to sell her catering equipment to pursue a career in theatre.

Aunty Sidi also revealed that the father of her first child later relocated to Malaysia. “We kept in touch even after he travelled,” she said. However, she recounted a tragic event upon his return. “After four years, he returned to Nigeria without telling anyone. Sadly, he was killed in the hotel he lodged in. I didn’t even know he was back,” she stated.

The actress, who has two children from different fathers, shared these details as part of a broader reflection on her journey as a young mother and entertainer.
