Social media activist Verydarkman recently voiced his frustration over a surprising apology made by a Bolt driver to Hon. Alex Ikwechegh, a lawmaker who had allegedly slapped the driver three times and threatened him. The apology video, which has gone viral, shows the driver asking for forgiveness, sparking criticism from many who believe he either faced intimidation or was bribed into making the statement.

Verydarkman had been at the forefront of seeking justice for the driver, even petitioning the police and negotiating a compensation package that included ₦5 million and a Toyota Corolla after representatives of the lawmaker sought a peaceful resolution. However, after receiving the settlement, the driver reportedly distanced himself from Verydarkman. Shortly afterward, the driver and his brother allegedly visited Ikwechegh’s home, and the apology video surfaced, leading Verydarkman to feel betrayed.
