Falz – Why Everybody must participate on 2023 poll
Popular Nigerian rapper, actor, and activist, Folarin Falana, popularly known as Falz has revealed why it is important for all Nigerians to participate in the 2023 general elections.
Speaking with Hip Tv, the singer-songwriter said the outcome of the 2023 general elections won’t matter, so long as Nigerians take part.
Falz stated this while speaking about what he described as the renewed energy and increased awareness with which citizens are approaching matters of politics, policies, and governance in the country.
He said the reduction in political apathy among citizens would ensure leaders don’t get too comfortable.
“There’s an energy that’s growing, and it’s very good to see. Everyone is aware now. Everyone wants to participate. And that’s what we need. Once everyone can participate, whoever is in power won’t get too comfortable,” he said.
“Always feeling like they have the system figured out. Once everyone participates come 2023, the game officially changes. It doesn’t matter what the actual results of these elections are. What matters is that the game changes.”
Commenting on Nigerian music space, Falz described Africa as making “historic” strides.
“African music is on the rise. It’s number one in the world. I’m so happy to be born into this time. I’m so excited to be a part of this movement. It’s historic. This right here will go down in history,” he added.
“People don’t even understand what’s happening right now. It hasn’t even started.”
