Court Dismisses Case Against Ibom Air Passenger Comfort Emmanson
An Ikeja Magistrate Court in Ogba, Lagos State, has discharged Comfort Emmanson, the passenger accused of unruly behaviour and assault aboard an Ibom Air flight.
Presiding Magistrate Olanrewaju Salami struck out the five-count charge on Wednesday after the Nigeria Police Force and Ibom Air formally withdrew the case.
The withdrawal followed the intervention of Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, who said the parties reached an amicable settlement after consultations with aviation stakeholders.
Following the court’s decision, Ibom Air lifted the lifetime flight ban on Emmanson. She was also released from the Kirikiri Correctional Centre, where she had been remanded during the trial.
