Black Sherif Makes Runway Debut at London Fashion Week

Ghanian Artist Black Sherif made his Runway debut during the London Fashion Week.
The cross-collaboration between music and fashion allows both industries to mutually benefit from each other’s influence, creativity, and reach, creating unique and memorable experiences for fans and consumers alike. Several African artists such as Davido, Odunsi, and Seun Kuti have made their runway debut. This time it’s Black Sherif’s turn.
The Ghanaian Icon strutted down the runway for the British fashion label Labrum. Established in 2014, this opulent fashion brand endeavors to narrate the hidden narratives of West Africa, serving as a conduit between Western and West African cultures through contemporary menswear. Founder and Creative Director Foday Dumbuya masterminded the distinguished collection.
Via its social media, the fashion house said, “Thank you to the people of LABRUM. We’re able to shine because you allow us to do so. Internally this collection shines a light on the journey from struggle to triumph. Acknowledging those that never lose sight of their vision or end-goal. AW24 utilizes this notion of resilience and joy as a source of inspiration. Celebrating this collective and transformative power of diverse cultures and their contributions to society, culture, and the arts”.
