Man Arrested for Robbing and Stabbing Victims, Claims Herbalist Made Him Do It Else He Dies

Detectives from the Bayelsa State Vigilante organization in Yenagoa successfully rescued a student from Federal University Otueke who had been attacked and robbed by a known criminal gang. The incident took place near the Tombia-Etegwe market axis on January 19, 2023.

The Chairman of the Vigilante Service, Hon. Doubiye Alagba, confirmed the arrest and stated that the quick action of the vigilante detectives was crucial in saving the life of the FUO undergraduate. As a result of their intervention, a 30-year-old individual named Ezekiel Samson, who hails from Ekeremor LGA in Bayelsa State, was apprehended.

The victim sustained severe injuries during the attack and was immediately rushed to a hospital in Yenagoa for emergency treatment.

However, he remains unconscious, and his true identity is yet to be ascertained by the vigilante group due to his current health condition.

While the victim continues to receive medical care, the suspect has been handed over to the Nigeria Police Force’s Akenfa Division in Bayelsa State Command for further investigation. The victim stated that he encountered the criminal while returning from lectures and resisted when they demanded his phone and other belongings as he tried to seek help from visitors at the hospital.

The fact that the victim, despite being stabbed and beaten, survived the ordeal is nothing short of a miracle.

The timely arrival of the Bayelsa vigilante group played a crucial role in saving the victim’s life. The suspect later confessed to authorities that he was compelled by charms he had created to stab his victims after robbing them. He believed that if he didn’t see their blood and flee the scene, he would face dire consequences as advised by his herbalist.
