BBNaija’s Ivatar Addresses Misconceptions About Video Vixens
Former Big Brother Naija housemate Ifeyinwa Adewunmi Okafor, popularly known as Ivatar, has spoken out against negative stereotypes associated with her career as a video vixen.
In an interview with Pulse Nigeria on Thursday, September 11, 2025, Ivatar said many people wrongly assume that women in her profession engage in indecent behavior or have sexual relationships with artists.
“Not all of us are ‘Ashawo,’” she stated. “They always feel like we lose our dignity and integrity to the artist or because of what we do. For me, I see it as modeling. In my video I wasn’t naked shaking my ass. Some do it, that’s up to them. I was just modeling in the video. And they feel like they don’t have respect for us. That’s the popular misconception. They feel like we sleep around with the artist but that does not happen.”
Ivatar emphasized that her work should be viewed as professional modeling, not immorality, and called for greater respect for women in the entertainment industry.
